I finally had a breakthrough this week !
I was getting nowhere fast trying out a whole number of silhouettes built from my ancient Chinese bash kit. None of the creations I came up with were resonating with me.
So I turned to the source of everyone's ideas recently; Pinterest. I just so happened to come across the design for an old weapon called the Puckle gun. Next to it was a Lego recreation of the contraption.

Something about this design re-invigorated my interest, and I made a few sketches of how I could merge it with my ancient eastern theme.
I followed Mikes design process again and it went much more smoothly this time. I think having something to be inspired by and work towards floating around in my head helped a lot.
Unfortunately all my dithering at the begging of the project hasn't left me much time to complete the actual model. So now it is a race against time to complete this before the deadline!
