This week I have left the R&D and mechanics behind to
start on a new part of the project.
A while ago Kieran had the idea of a “pre-garden” part of
the level within which a few gate and key puzzles could be added. He made a
simple white box for it, just to help visualise the idea, and later on Momo did
a paint over of this to further help visualise it.
I have taken on the task of trying to turn this white box
and a visualization into a game ready asset.
My plan is to make it fully modular, so that it doesn't have
to be confined to the original shape of the white box. To start with I have
been going through the reading material again that I found during the container
city project.

I have also had a little poke around the Skyrim Creation Kit
this weekend, trying to dissect their models and learn from the masters. It was
honestly awe inspiring seeing just how well their kits snapped together. I did
find the creation kit especially clunky to use after using UE4 for the last
couple of weeks, but it did provide some valuable insight as to which direction
I should take.
